I was wondering what I can do legally now that I am 18.

I already know these things:

Vote
Smoke
Buy Arms
Pornography
Legally Have Sex
Buy A House
Buy A Car
Join the Military

But my question is, what are the things that most poeple don't know what they can do at 18 legally. If anyone can give me a good list or a website to read this, it would be helpful. I have already googled it so yeah, thx in advance.

You could have enlisted in the military at 17
Some states (NJ) you gotta be 19 to smoke
Some states you gotta be 21 for porn
Age of Consent is lower than 18 almost everywhere (but now the age of your sexual partner's is higher)

You can probably buy lottery tickets now. Woooo.
Basically it means nothing except that you will be held responsible for your actions if u **** up.
Congrats on being 18. The best years of your life are probably behind you. Its all downhill from here.

well, first don't waste you time thinking what you can do, cause soon you'll be 21 and you still don't have **** going for yourself. I know you're young but don't waste your whole life wondering what"if" finish School, get a job, and do something great! believe the last thing you want is to be 30 and still living with you parents. Good Luck! Life is not fun unless your smart about it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emancipation_of_minors

The few things emancipation does NOT give you are what you get in addition to what emancipation gives you.

In general, you are able to consent to anything, assuming you are mentally competent, that any adult may consent to. This allows you to enter into contracts of all kinds and to be held responsible if you fail to honor your obligations.

You are now responsible for your own stupidity and foolishness and its consequences. You are no longer entitled to what is left in our society of protection for those considered legally incompetent.

Enjoy!

you missed two.

first, you can now legally run for a minor electoral office or be appointed to some low-rung public office.

second, you can now be legally thrown in prison as you are no longer a minor.

There's responsibility staring you right in the face.
