Why are you so concern with what black people do? You need to find you a better way to spend your time.

Probably because the Democratic party is supposed to be the "Working Man's" party. Democrats are supposed to be hard working people who may not have as much money as the next man but know the value of hard work. Republicans have the reputation of being wealthy and only concerned with those who are in basically the same financial class as themselves. Republicans have been known to take from the poor and give to the rich.

unfortunately because democrats support the welfare program which a large number of black people are on. according to a black woman who used to be on welfare, she said it's to keep these people "down" & dependent so that they have little chance of advancing in life. which suggests that democrats are racist. if you are an unwed mother on welfare then there is very little incentive to want to get married & have a more stable family homelife. these are probably the smallest democrat population who does not have abortions because sadly some use their children to get govt benefits.

Probably because most blacks are either poor or working class, and they know that Republicans don't represent them, only big business and right-wing special interest groups. Many Republicans are ignorant bigots and some are openly racist. Black Republicans should hang their heads in shame.

Because they have a history of being liberal and republicans don't, they republicans held on to the jim crow laws in the south and that has a lasting effect today.
P.S There are more whites on welfare actually, check the statistics first.

To poster 2, Republicans helped blacks until the Reconstruction Period. (That is the old Republican party...)
So yes, at a certain period of time Republicans helped minorities, not the Dems.
In relation to this question, because the modern Republican party has more ties with conservative pro-slavery landowners.
