I have made websites before for other people ect but I am thinking of makeing one to own myself. what kind of site do you think I should make?

Well...I donno what you are capable of doing...but what about:
- torrent site [requiires mySQL & PHP]
- VoIP service
- technology updates [with RSS support]
- tutorials [web, graphics, programming, etc]
- forum for all interests
If you know how to program, then maybe add some software as well for FREE download - maybe asa start FREE, then change to be commercial
