According to urban mythology a cleaner is someone who comes in and cleans up a mistake within a ritual. when a magickian does something strictly forbidden a cleaner is dispatched to literally clean up the mess the magickian made. This is especially common when the magickian has practiced forbidden magick. the cleaner often will bind the subject from practicing magick for a time as punishment for being called out.

It is not a Myth. I've heard stories, the interesting part is not so much the story itself, but the storyteller.
