I have read somewhere that Lewis Caroll who wrote Alice in Wonderland was a pedophille and was sexually attracted to little girls. Is this true?

If by a pedophile you mean someone who actually
engages in sexual activity with children, no, he
wasn't. For a brief time, just a few years, he did
take photographs of naked young girls, but only
with the permission of both the girls and their
parents. He later destroyed most of these so that
the girls could not later be embarrassed by them,
and only four appear to have survived. There is
no evidence that he ever attempted any sexual
activity with the girls, though certainly a repressed
sexuality is likely to have been behind his action.

Morton Cohen has written an excellent biography
of Carrol that reproduces the surviving nude
pictures, only one of which is likely to raise any
eyebrows now. He does suggest that Carrol may
have wanted to marry the original Alice when she
became old enough.

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, known by his pen name, Lewis Carroll, was a man of diverse interests - in mathematics, logic, photgraphy, art, theater, religion, medicine, and science. He was happiest in the company of children for whom he created puzzles, clever games, and charming letters.

I have never heard anything about his being a pedophile. One of his interests was photography at which he became quite proficient. Alice in Wonderland was inspired by a photograph he took. Children's photography was his forte.

This does not mean he was a pedophile. One can enjoy and nurture children without the perverseness of being a pedophile.

It is generally believed he was. Through the Looking Glass was written for two young daughters of a family friend. Almost all his writings deal with young girls in one way the other. Also I believe they found nude pictures of little girls in his stuff.

I myself don't think so. He had taken many pictures of young girls, naked even, and parts of his diary and many of his photos have been destroyed. Still, I don't think he was really attracted to them, since it is easy for rumors to get around. If he was really attracted to them, and acted upon his urges, it would be an extremely less controversial topic because then it would be much more obvious.
