My sister is not going to be the maid of honor in her best friend/cousin's wedding because she doesnt like her husband. I admit the guy is an extreme player that actually told his fiance back when they were dating "i want to marry you, but i wanna be with other girls before i settle down with you" Im going to be a bridesmaid and i think it would be wierd being one and not having my sister be one also. People will start asking questions and itll get nasty at the wedding..so ...what do you think?

I think they're not friends any more.

When a friend marries someone you don't like, you either accept them, or the friendship is over. You can't just continually undermine their marriage.

Your sister has a right to her opinion. I think she trying to show the bride/cousin that she doesn't support her choice to marry the man. However, she should suck it up and be in the wedding. People attending the wedding will spend more time wondering why she is there, and not in the wedding than actually enjoying the wedding itself. Family is supposed to support their loved ones in whatever choices he/she makes. Doesnt mean they have to agree w/em

I think that if she doesn't really like the groom then there is a good chance she doesn't approve of the wedding at all; and if that's the case then she would probably feel hypocritical to be in a wedding she doesn't support. It may feel weird but I think it's actually more respectful of her if she doesn't do something against her beliefs.

I think you should do what you want to do and your sister should do what she wants to do.

Have a good time the wedding and be the best bridesmaid you can be.

I think it's between your sister and the friend. If your sister feels this strongly about the situation, she has the right to decline to participate.
