ur statement is wrong.i cant get ur question correctly i.e, while instaling or after insalling, look while installing not only antivirus but any software ,the processor gives priority to it 1st then other.so at that time u can see in the task manager that cpu usage is nearly 80-90% which is taken by the software installing.
but after installing the antivirus only the norton antivirus slow down the perofrmance of pc,as it is best for big servers.but other antivirus doesnt slow .if u have any doubt further then mail to me...

Any virus program needs to scan the packets that are coming into and going out of your PC. It also need to monitor each and every file write, read access to system areas, shutdown requests and so on. Each of this happens in the background without you ever noticing. However well a program is written to have the smallest footprint and overhead on the OS, there is bound to be some resources diverted / dedicated for this purpose. Cheers

Although I can't answer that, I do not believe it to be normal. I've never heard of any program slowing it down before. Maybe for about 3 seconds while it figures out what/where you're going on your computer. Try finding another program. Look onto cnet.com and see how other users rate anti virus programs. It's very helpful!!

Actually the process of antivirus is to check for virus when the user interacts to any part of the system.
So whenever you click an item it will be automatically sent for checking so the required aplication will be opened after scanning.
inorder to avoid that you can change your setting. By selecting manual checking.

Because the software is constantly scanning your system for viral programs, it will slow down each thing that you do... as it is checking to see if it is safe.
With most anti-virus programs, you can go into your virus protection software and tell it what you constitute as "safe" so that when you visit your most loved sites, it will not slow you down. With this said though, you are taking a chance that the site has malicious viruses on it that are waiting to attack your system. Ensure you research the site, and any site, that you program your anti-virus software to disregard.
Hope this helps!

installation the video games ought to not shrink your overall performance even as not operating the game. the in simple terms exception i'll imagine of is in case you used the very very last of your troublesome stress area to position in it. If the video games are great in length, you ought to in basic terms attempt defragmenting the stress after installation to keep issues so as. in case you don't recognize how: initiate > All classes > upload-ons > gadget procedures > Disk Defragmenter good success and earnings from the gaming!

Ur anti virus is actually monitoring ur comp while u r working. If u have a considerable amount of RAM memory u wont feel ur comp is slow, as the new upgrades have more security features and viral database.

The antivirus software looks at every file, every packet, every message before you see it. This takes a certain amount of CPU and I/O, that you were not using before. It is well worth it.
