False, There's a perception that conquistadors, and colonists came on all these wonderful "missions" to convert the indigenous peoples, however, there's a phrase that encompasses the main reasons they came, which is Glory, gold, God" and the priorities were usually in that order. You have to consider at that time England was a world power, and had several countries in their possession. There was a strong desire to have as much land as possible and to reap any benefits associated with it, to include gold. Conversion, was a factor, but not a primary one in my opinion.

I don't think it was the sole primary factor. However it was one of the primary "factors" along with all the diseases white man brought with him.
There were a lot of Native American tribes wiped out solely in the name of converting them from their heathen ways. Before you argue with me I am Native American.
Not everything you read in the history books is accurate.

a big factor.. the christians were horrible to the Indians.. taking their land, trying to convert their beliefs and being harsh if they didn't.. making the Indians go to their schools and wear their clothes..
