There is an iac (idle air control valve) on that car. it allows air into the intake when the throttle plate is closed. when that valve is stuck closed and your foot is off the gas the car will die. then when you put your foot on the gas it allows air into the engine. if you barley touch the gas pedal and the car starts and runs replace the valve. good luck

Yeh why not take it in and have the codes checked. Could be lots reasons, vacuum leaks, bad fuel system pressure regulator, Idle air control valve, etc. Take it in to have its codes read.

Did you do any work on it recently? Maybe a vacuum hose came off while the work was done, especially changing the air filter. The hose on the bottom of box can come loose.

Sounds like low fuel pressure due to clogged injectors or a bad fuel pump that can't pressurize the fuel rail supplying the injectors.

It either has a vacuum leak or it needs an idle air control valve.
