I felt so sad when Oliver Kahn made that mistake, and Ronaldo's first goal went in. Then when Germany lost 0-2, I was dejected. I went to my room and cried that day. But a week later, I was over the loss, because Brazil deserved to win that year. So please share your memories of that day...

I watched that game at my grandparents' house...at least my grandfather was happy that day because he loves Brazil. Little did I know then that I would cry a hundred times more tears four years later...at this year's World Cup : (

Well, I was rooting for both of them in 2002. Still, at that time I didn't know much about soccer so I had no feelings at all. But at this year's world cup, I broke in tears for one month bcoz Germany lost to Italy. It's so sad I still can't get over it. I mean, two goals in the last two minutes, couldn't be more depressing than that. I thought Germany would have a chance if it went to a PK match. I was shocked and depressed when grosso scored the first goal.
And even though people already know Germany lost, and Italy win, some Italian fans still mock Germany and show off their win... It's just so sad...

Hi!
You know? I was ruling for Germany.
However, I don't have very good memories of that World Cup, 'cause I remember the time-zone affected terribly my perception of the whole thing. The games where scheduled for like 6:00 in the morning, I had class... it was such a big mess. I hope they don't have a cup in Asia again unless I live there (yes, selfish, I know, but I had a bad time).
I remember the final game was so early that I went to get breakfast afterwards. And I remember seeing people dancing in the street's with Brazilian flags celebrating. I was so tired... and kind of mad I couldn't really see the game!
I remember seeing it that same night on a re-run. Gladly, neither Germany nor Brazil are my heart's team. So, no real harm done!
Kind of sad, huh?
Thank god for Germany 2006! YAY!
This was the greatest World Cup ever! (Aside Italy 1990, which I remember dearly!)
Goodluck!

First of all I dont think that Oliver Kahn made a mistake. When a Rivaldo rocket is coming at you with so much spin on it...well then best thing to do is knock it down which is what he did but he was unfortunate that ronaldo was right there to put it in.I was 12 years old and I went with my dad to one of his friend's house. There were about 10 people there that day and everyone was rooting for Brazil and I was the only to root for Germany. I felt bad for like 2 days and then i was back to normal again.

This is another world cup that I'll never forget when Italy lost against South Korea...My youngest daughter and I would make it an all nighter to watch the games because of the time difference, than unfortunately Italy got the boot!!
I cried but when I saw the Italian team on TV arrive in Rome all the fans cheered them, it felt really good even if they lost.

I can't even remember the play off for third place. I had predicted that either France or Italy would win and watched that. It's a shame that the finals are now all anti-climaxes. I wouldn't pay money to see them because they are boring. I would much rather watch my premier league team play than National Teams any-day. That could be something to do with the fact that England will never win another world cup but I doubt it. Boredom kills everything.

I watched it at home as I did all the games, but I was still in shock by the loss France-Senegal. I remember clearly some faces in the stands and I said to myself :" All that money that they spent traveling so far away and pouf it's over that quickly". I'm sorry I wish I had a better recollection as you know memory can be quite selective as to what we want to remember.

I was in Connecticut at a friend's place and sooooooo mad because my friend and her family aren't interested in soccer, so they never watch it and I missed the game!!!
I was rooting for Germany. European solidarity, I guess. But Brazil did play well that year.
