I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was three days before my eleventh birthday, and I wanted France to win so much, I was really excited about that match. I remember Zidane's two headers, I was ecstatic when he scored! And then Emmanuel Petit finishing it off with his goal late in the match...3-0! What a wonderful day! Those are my wonderful memories. Please share your memories...

I'll never forget the look on Petit's face after he scored...he looked just so full of joy, perfect finish by him! I will always remember that. And when the French players were celebrating and holding and kissing the trophy, it truly was a glorious and wonderful day.

I was.. in France! Not in Paris, though. At the beach in the South of France. And I was happy that they won. That was a wonderful game.

Yes, great memories, reading this question just made me smile and forget about this horrible final and remember all the good times France had. Magical moments, but I was like...5...but my dad watched it with great interest (I have no idea since when he is watching but he seems to be a big fan) I later did watch the replays when I was a little older when my dad downloaded the match on the computer. Truly, that match really did make me feel like I was with angels! and then the celebrations on the streets went on for days. People singing and dancing. It was a glorious moment that I will never forget, thanks for bringing back great memories! :)

I watched it at home with a few friends. It was on my new big TV and everybody made the place go crazy. It's Brazil, how can we win??? It can't last, it can't hold??? In the second half, Brazil will come back with a vengeance!!!! Someone is going to get hurt and have to leave the pitch and it's gonna turn around. Well, it held and I loved the fact that my English friend who played for "Blackburn Rovers" was super happy for France and me. The next day at work I was humming "La Marseillaise". Merci.

Oh gosh that was such a great day!!! Zidane was brilliant and left me with such an admiration for him as a player. That's when I started to follow his career in earnest. We were at a hotel in the heart of Sydney and seeing as I was the only one who had supported France I was shouted free drinks until we left...LOL. So all in all, I'd have to say that particular WC had a really big impact on me. One I will never forget.

I was nine years old and had yet to discover the best sport in the world. But that's okay since my two favorite teams from the beginning, Israel and Italy, weren't involved.
