OK, first take off the parentheses...
Notice - before the first parenthesis can be treated as -1 for this purpose. Distribute the number before the parenthesis and you get:
-x - 2 -2x = -2x - 2
Now, you move the like terms to each side and you get:
Notice, when you move it across the equal sign, the sign changes
-x -2x +2x = -2 + 2
-x = 0
Multiply both sides by -1
x = 0

oh I thought it was -(x+2) multiplied by -2x, if that's the case then ypu need to work it out and do teh ABC formula to get x. But the way the others explained it it a lot easier, then figuring out 2x^2+4x= -2x-2.
