Question

if 6 men can dig 6 hole's in 6 minute's
how long will it take 10 men to dig 10 hole's.

the answer to this is 6 minute's.
this is in our local coffee new's
i would say 10 minutes but the answer is 6.

Think about this problem this way...

If 4 men can dig 4 holes in 6 minutes
and 6 men can dig 6 holes in 6 minutes

how long it will take 10 men to dig 10 holes?

answer: 6 minutes...each man dig his own hole...no help from the other men. It takes 6 minute for a man to dig a hole...a cast of a thousand will not chance this fact...each event is an independent event.

6 hole's what? 6 minute's what? I assume you mean 6 holes and 6 minutes instead.

6 men dig 6 holes in 6 minutes. That can be done by each man digging a hole. Also, one man can only do 1/6 of the work, so that is 1/6 * 6 = 1 hole. Since a man can dig a hole in 6 minutes, line up 10 men and have each one dig a hole in 6 minutes. The result is 10 holes. So 10 men dig 10 holes in 6 minutes.

but think of there are 6 men and 6 holes, so u can say each man is digging one hole. so one man takes 6 minutes to dig one hole. and then u can see whhy if there are 10 holes and 10 men the answer is still 6 minutes
