You will need to start at the bottom with anything, but keep looking. It's better to find a job when you have one. Try a large corporation that hires recent graduates. You won't be paid much, but you will learn a lot. Unless you specialized in a specific field all that piece of paper tells the employer is that you are trainable.

Your life is a gift and granted. But your survival is not. It requires constant labor. Almost every business I have walked into over the last week has had a sign on the door, "now hiring, apply inside".
There's always work for those willing to work. First take any job you can get and feed yourself, maybe two jobs. Then look for an opportunity to use your degree. I'm assuming you have a marketable degree.

It is very difficult to survive without a job or a means to support yourself.
My suggestion to help you meet your immediate needs would be to contact all the temporary agencies since many of them pay the same week and will help you build some job experience.
At the same time, spend 1-2 hours a day applying for jobs on and off line.
I've been there, it sucks beyond belief but if you keep trying things will work out.

Yep-lower you standards or start at the bottom of a company you want to use your degree for. Work your way up. My sis is a Dr and she waitressed and bartended all thru college and grad school. She still 'fills in' at a place she had so much fun working at. She met some great contacts doing those jobs which most Doctors would consider 'beneath them'
Good Luck

Anyone can find a job to supply the necessities to survive. It may not be what you want, it may not be what you have gone to school for but there are jobs out there in order to survive.
Even if you have to work at a fast food restaurant, clean office buildings, clean houses, work at as a sales person, receptionist, cashier, ditch digger,
You can find a job.
You do what you have to in order to survive and then look for a career in your free time.
A job, is a job, is a job........take what you can get to live on.
A career is something that takes time to succeed in, and you have to start at the bottom usually to achieve your goals.
And sitting in front of a computer will not get you a job. You can not rely on sending applications/resumes in via the computer. Get up, get out and start taking those resumes to potential employers in person. Show some initiative, some motivation, some dedication and hard work in finding employment.
If your sitting at home waiting for a job to come to you......then you will starve to death.

Have you checked with social services or welfare ?
You can obtain food from a food bank or if you're in the US I think you can get food stamps.
Have you thought about taking a job that doesn't involve your degree area? Could you do volunteer work with someone or some organization that will utilize your skills.
Go to an employment office and take advantage of the programs they have available to help you get the skills apparently you are lacking.
There must be jobs in the service industry , hotels etc that you could do to tide you over so you can make money to take care of yourself.

Start by applying on line for jobs at least one hour a day. Next apply in person at three different places. In the meanwhile get a job at a restaurant or anywhere until you find the real job that you want. At least you will have some type of income coming in.

Disregard the ignorant who answered regarding welfare...they are of no consequence.
I don't know what your major was in, but a good idea would be to look at the job market here in Las Vegas. Our town is booming, and it has been for a lot of years. There aren't just casino jobs either.
The Clark County School District is currently suffering from a severe teacher shortage; it may be worth your while to check it out. They need approximately 135 new teachers, and today was the first day back to school. A lot of the void was filled by substitute teachers.
Many of our residents have come here from other states looking for opportunities here and have found them to br plentiful.
Good luck, and don't give up hope.

Start anywhere -- do any job -- and keep looking for a position in your career field while you are working the position you have at the time. That is what all College Graduates do before they get their first position in their area of concentration.

i hear this a lot. there are always some type of job if you look hard enough. maybe you think it's beneath you to wait tables when you have a college degree. i can understand that, but if you need food, you do what you have to do.
