I was only seven years old at that time. That was the first World Cup I remember. When Germany won in 1990, I was barely three years old, so I have no memory of that. 1994, however, I remember that penalty shootout, and Baggio's going way over...I wasn't rooting for either team, but I was a child, and I actually felt sorry for Italy that day. So where were you...please share your memories...

Yeah, I actually felt bad for Baggio, it's hard losing in a penalty shootout like that.

Back then I was still living in Milan and I was at home watching the game. It was sad. So close to the trophy, and suddenly your hopes are crashed. Therefore, I feel sympathy for France and their fans. And I feel bad for Trezeguet, because he is a talented player -- like Baggio, but unfortunately nobody is perfect and you can fail a penalty. Too bad, but I guess "c'est la vie".

I wanted Brazil to win only because Ayrton Senna the brazilian Formula One driver was killed during a race at the San Marino Grand Prix in May of that year.
I felt really bad too for Baggio when he just stood there in disbelief at the penalty area. I was happy for Brazil even though I have no attachment to it and sad for Italy because of Baggio.

I was watching at a friends house as none of my family are really into football like myself. I so wanted Baggio to have success, he is one of my all time favourites, not that I had/have anything against Brazil at all. When he missed that penalty I felt so devastated for him. I sat there totally speechless, numb. I cannot imagine the emotions a player goes through in that situation. I feel the same for Treze, it must be the most devastating football experience for a player to endure when a nations hopes are riding on you, So much pressure and responsibility. Oh that was a sad day for Baggio fans.

I saw the end of it on tv. The penalty shot. Carlos Dunga, Claudio Taffarel, Romario, Bebeto and so on... wasn't it? I didn't know much about the world cup back then anyway. I didn't get interested in the world cup until 2002

I was in college hanging out with my friends at our house watching the game. I wanted Italy. Bagio was cool. He was my favorite player. My buddy from Albania was torn because he liked both teams. But I wanted Italy and Bagio. Brazil won.

At my parent's house, dejected after the game.
Listening to the insults afterwards by people supporting Brazil that couldn't name 2 people on that team just days before when they jumped on the bandwagon.
