In all truth, it depends on the "others" in mind.

I'll give you some examples of how much i feel (or how i feel for that matter):

- I was eating in a restaurant one night with my husband and his friend and there was this guy with his family. His daughter asked for ice cream or something similar. And then he said "i bought the meal so i get to make all the decisions" or something to that regard. I wanted to kill him. I cannot stand people who act as though they deserve something if they paid for a meal or were courteous to someone else. That's a trait i actually find abominable. Especially within a family or a closeknit group.

- When i see little children that are crying because they're lost or whatever. I feel a void inside myself that i find it hard to speak. It's horrible to witness sadness. Especially in a child.

- When i see truly poor people without shoes, i want to take my own off and give it to them just so that they know that someone cares.

Call me pathetic or even a liar.

But i feel so strongly that i actually have to turn myself off.

I cannot walk past a homeless man and not give change.
I cannot stand leaving food on my plate when there is so much starvation in the world.
I cannot stand the lack of kindness in any situation. When i hear about bullying or violence, i get so mad. My blood literally boils when i hear about the strong beating on the weak.

So how much do i feel for others?

Too much.

I used to have the biggest heart filled with kindness to a fault, I
took care of a sick family member for many years , loved my
family and relatives and did for friends, neighbors and strangers
But after years of taking alot of crap in various jobs where one has
worked, it takes a toll on you.I could never be a cold person but
at work I have started to look the other way and not care about
my fellow employees. I still love family and friends and would help
a stranger or homeless or sick person but anybody from my
past that ever hurt me , I have no compassion for . Boy, did you
open up a can of worms with this question.

I'm all too well known for being TOO empathetic. When a member of my family hurts, I hurt. If a friend of mine is hurt, I hurt.
Sometimes a curse, because so many people come to me at the same time. But on the same hand, very self fulfilling in knowing that I helped in what ever way I could.
HUGS !!!

I have an unconditional care giving heart, I love helping and my heart just goes out to people even if I do not know them, like when a disaster of terrorist crashed those plans into those buildings, I cried for the people who lost their lives, when other bad things have happened to people any where I cry for people, it saddens my heart when people get hurt from abuse or death of a loved one from the war.....I do not even have to know them, but my heart will cry for them

Enough that wether I have met them in person or not I can find the love for that person. I have met people here that I can say I love. My heart always has room for someone.
Their happiness is of importance to me.

I care about people, even those I don't know. I feel for people who are less fortunate and just people in general who need someone.
