I think they may have violated the account privacy policy when they gave my name and account info to a detective without any court order or anything... I didn't commit any crime, just posted someones home address on my blog which is public records and free speech. The detective (not understanding internet free speech laws) called blogspot and they gave him my IP address, then called Roadrunner who gave him my name and address. Where can I find the policy that states when and under what circumstances they are supposed to give up a users account information?

Anyways this detective and 2 cops came to my house today threatening me with all kinds of charges and stuff, wasted my time for hours and caused a lot of embarassment with the squad cars in the driveway... Once I explained that the address was a matter of public record that anyone can get right off of the countys own web sites and that this is a 1st amendment free speech issue, he was satisfied and left.

You would have to get that straight from them or possibly their website may have it posted.

Don't believe they should have given the info without a warrant...
