It just means that you are prejudging a person based on some outward appearance or trait without knowing if it's true or if they fit the category. I don't think it's slang, I think it's a word used by all americans. Like don't assume that every guy white guy wearing a trenchcoat with a shaved head is a member of the trenchcoat mafia or don't assume that every black guy in the elevator is going to snatch your purse. Don't assume that every chinese person eats rice and noodles, every black person does not eat watermelon and love chicken. Every white girl that has cornrows does not want to be black..... that's stereotyping........

Stereotyping is inevitable. notwithstanding that's as a lot because the guy about about no matter if or not they choose the human beings off of the stereotype or no matter if or not they get to entice close the guy before they choose them. i imagine about the stereotype of human beings each and each of the time (that child is emo, that one is punk and so on.) yet I attempt now to not ascertain that for the period of my head until eventually i extremely get to no them. human beings imagine those issues, then proceed to act and choose on the stereotypes. So Stereotypes are good for sorting out about the guy's outdoors visual attraction and how they carry themselves, yet they don't carry the actual personality, for you want to dig deeper.

Stereotype means sterotype, and it doesn't mean racist. However, stereotyping someone can sometimes be racist. But, stereotypes can be about more than race, that's why it's not always racist.

There is no slang word for it.

for Americans it is not slang... it is a way of placing people of certain, it not all ethnic backgrounds into groups based on fallacies.

examples :

all black people are ghetto

Asian women can't drive

Jewish people are tight w/ their money

... i hope this this helped you.. i am not a good source for stereotypes because i try to avoid them @ all times. to me we are all human and that is all that matters.. treat one another w/ respect.
