I don't think such numbers can be expressed as fractions. Numbers like pi, which, although it does not have repeating digits does carry on to infinite decimal places, can only be approximated using fractions. Pi is commonly expressed as "about" 22/7.

22/7 comes out to 3.14, which is not exactly pi, but as close as you can get by expressing a ration of whole numbers.

All this should apply to any non-terminating decimal.

Divide 1 by the answer.
.88888888 divided by 1 =
1.125000001
The fractional eqivalent is 1/1.125000001.

put .88 over 100 so...it becomes 88/100 which you simplify to get the fraction
