One of my friends started using the drug called crystel meth.
No 2 weeks later he has started to scratch at his skin. I dont know why he is doing this or using the drug in the first place i want him to stop but um unsure of how to bring it up with him. Also, why does he scratch at his skin?

With the scratching it is most likely because he is holusinating . I heard of people on meth that did that and thought there were bugs on their skin and actually picked off their skin right down to the bone/muscle.Get him help tell a teacher or adult HURRy before he hurts himself real bad.

He has matured and sees that what you all were doing was not good. He's trying to break away from you all and start a new life. It's hard! When I was young (I'm old now), I smoked dope, did LSD and mescaline and lots of speed. One day I woke up, sleeping in a sewer pipe laying above ground, couldn't breathe, didn't have a dime or a place to eat or sleep. I was no angel, you know? But I decided my life had to change, I got help from some wonderful people, and all these years later am finishing my master's degree in accounting. My drug of choice is coffee and the meds they give me for the mental illnesses I collected. Let him find his way, and you find yours, too. You won't be young forever, and all the things you do now will be consequences down the line. What if you get busted with dope? How many careers have you cut yourself out of? Is it worth it? Find someone you trust and have them help you get your life together. You're just wasting time right now. I KNOW, I've been there. I was just lucky I never got caught. Stop before you get caught.

Meth makes you want to move, and at the same time makes you lazy in a way. If you start to clean your house on it, you will have a spotless house but usually you don't have the drive to start. So the need to move is taken out in smaller motions- scratching, twisting hair, biting lip, etc. I can name people who have stopped cold-turkey with no help, and people who have been through every treatment and still not stopped. There is nothing you can really do; he has to WANT to quit. You might point out some of the negatives though, but gently or he is gonna get mad, stop listening, and you will never get to him. Also no matter how well you know him, take care: I knew this dude who was the sweetest guy but on meth he went nuts and started throwing knives and threatening this other dude; iced up (as it is also called) he developed one of those paranoid anti-government conspiracy theories, believed that unless his friend and his friends family went with him to some special ranch set up by others with this same theory they were going to be brainwashed. Therefore to 'save' his buddy, he was going to kill him if he didn't agree to go.

Maybe he is having an allergic reaction to the stuff. Itchy skin is going to be the least of your friends problems if he does not stop using it. Have a little courage, and come right out to your friend with what you think. Don't be surprised or discouraged if he gets angry with you. Look in the phone book for drug treatment centers.

The drug crystallizes under your skin when you smoke it, so they pick it out of their skin and re-smoke it. Pretty gross eh? You need to tell someone NOW! A parent, teacher anyone! You do NOT want to watch your friend dig poison out from under his skin, put it in a pipe, and smoke it.

Usually those symptoms don't start right away. Are you sure your friend only started 2 weeks ago? Not only that, people on meth tend to remove their eyebrows, eyelashes, etc.

it destroys your nerve endings and you itch and you just cant stop itching so you end up with big flesh wounds.. its so gross.
