If you like ghost towns and want to save a little money, go check out Jerome, about 25 miles southwest of Sedona. It has loads of character. Recommended eatery is the Haunted Hamburger...good food at family restaurant prices. (Food network/Rachel Ray did a segment on them not too long ago.)

In Sedona, Tlaquepaque is a wonderful window-shopping area (it's more of a rabbit-warren of shops and boutiques than an actual mall). Of course, I say window shopping because it's ridiculously expensive. The Oak Creek Brewery is in the shopping center and has very good microbrew as well as a not-too-expensive menu (by Sedona standards). Save your shopping dollars for Jerome, which also has many shops and galleries that are far cheaper than Sedona. Jerome also has several romantic B&B's (in the range of $100-$150) though they may be booked already.

As for true romance, L'auberge is certainly near the top of the list...but be prepared to drop over $100 for dinner for two (if you can get reservations). I hear the lunch menu is much cheaper.

Hike Oak Creek Canyon
Visit the Chapel in the Rocks
I heard Pink Jeep Tours are fun

Expect that it will probably be hot there, cooler than Phoenix but not all that cool.

We went to Sedona, got Ben and Jerry's ice cream and sat on the bed with two spoons. :) And then....well later, after dark, we ventured out.

Sedona can be seen in a day or less, I recommend visiting Jerome while on this trip, it's only a 20 minute drive and is similar in scenic/shopping value. Also, Oak Creek Canyon is nearby, a great place to have a picnic! :)

definitely go to jerome for the most amazing views at sunset. the jerome hotel has a world class restaurant and is not excessively expensive! there's also a nice little winery where you can sit; perched up high. as for sedona, go to the airport restaurant for lunch (really cool views) and the natural thai place in west sedona is yummy. tlaquepaque is overrated but if you are going to shop, i guess it's the place to go.

Sedona is rather a small town it has a lot of high end
gift shops. also there are alot of million dollar homes
scattared among the rock cliffs. there is a small creek
that runs down of a mountain through town.
Be prepaired to spend alot of money.

Do the ATV ride!! It's incredible, if you don't mind the ride. Plus it's kind of nice riding around on your ATV while others are stuck in jeeps....

If your big on omlettes, there's this place on the main street that does like 101 omlettes---very good, but the place was jam packed when we were there and i was lead to believe it's almost always like that....
