I would have to say...yes.

I believe that hate is an emotion that is love in mourning, either by someone who's hurt you, or by someone who did not return your feelings of love.

To hate someone, you have had to once cared about that person in some fashion or another. If you never loved or cared, you would be indifferent. No feelings one way or another.

Love is basically all of the emotions you are capable of sent at one particular person. However, I believe that the reason you feel better about the person you love is because there are more positive emotions than negative emotions, so of course you can hate somebody out of love, it is only natural, especially if a loved one hurts you.
