I would agree with you. But as always, you must look at the whole chart.
Intelligence and intellect are governed by Mercury, Gemini and the 3rd house.
Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, so it can rule brilliance and geniuses. Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius.
