Most states will provide you with a duplicate title with a minimum of hassle, as long as you have your driver's license so you can prove you are the real owner of the car. Just go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles and tell them you need to obtain a duplicate title. In my state it costs $10.00 and it (the duplicate) will arrive in the mail in about a week. They also have a special place only in the state capital where you can go and they will make it for you while you wait, so you don't have to wait for the mail to deliver it. Don't worry about it, it's really no big deal.

most certainly, the vehicle is in your name, you should have a registration in the vehicle if so go to any dmv and show them the registration and your identification and explain the lost the title part, they will make another title and send it to you, they do charge for this and if you find the other title destroy it, it has been removed as far as being any good because of the new title issuse you.
now...if you donot have a registration... simply write your vehicle license number down and have your drivers license in hand and go to any dmv and do the same as bove, done this a billion times, easy. good luck.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.
Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

In Florida, you go to the County Tax Collector at the courthouse to transfer a title or get a replacement.
In a lot of states, you go to the DMV.

Take your license and your current registration to the motor vehicles office, and apply for a duplicate title. The speed of the replacement may vary depending on the state.
