Don't most alcoholics and those who have committed terrible sins usually become born-again?

why do fiscal conservatives (born-again Christians), quote the New Testament, but refer to the Old Testament as the scriptures (the word of God)?

if the Bush team are sending our troops to Iraq to kill and die because of the book of Revelation, why don't they just say so?

2) Not all fiscal conservatives are born-again Christians. Born agains would say that the entire Bible is the Word of God (scriptures).

3) I've never heard anyone say this. Sending troops to Iraq because of the Book of Revelation? Sounds like someone who doesn't know what they are saying. Of course, there are a lot of people saying they're Christians (on this site) that are just anti-Christians wanting to mess with people.

Just outside the gate at a local USMC Air Station:

A tourist walked into a pet store and began looking at the animals on display.

Neddie they aren't. Many Christians do believe that the current middle east conflict is foretold in the Revelation as in a number of Old Testament scriptures, but that is not the reason for being in Iraq. I will say though that my faith does cause me to support Israel, and our support for Israel is really at the root of all the problems there. It HAS become a religious war pitting Islamists against Jews and Christians.

I was an alky and committed terrible sins, when I was getting straight, 11 yrs ago, I went to AA & NA tried taking their religious advice but dropped it! Now I stay straight on my own! I don't know about most alcoholics, but I doubt anything holds true for 'most of them!

I haven't known that many alcoholics but the ones I did know and are now dead died as drunks.
Most people as they age and gain real life experience tend to become more conservative. Most Liberals are young inexperienced people and older people in arrested development.
I know many fiscal conservatives that are really not religious. I myself am agnostic.
