As far as the "violence" issue goes, have you seen any of the "kid" shows and cartoons out there today? Although as someone who's been working with kids for 15 years, I will say this. 9 out of 10 of the ones who watch wrestling and other related shows were unable to determine the difference between staged fights and real fights, and were the ones with behavior problems and who had issues with violent outbreaks.
As far as the other content shown on wrestling of today, I would say it's not very appropriate for kids. If it was still the way it was when I was growing up, I would say there's no problem with it. But there's wrestlers from those days that I've read interviews from (including Brett Hart) that have said they won't let their own kids watch the stuff on WWE these days because of the adult content.
My own personal advice would be to wait until he's a bit older and help him understand that what is happening on the screen is staged and they aren't really trying to hurt each other. Otherwise it could very well end up like something that happened on The Simpson's once. Bart visited the "trama" unit and Dr Hibbard introduced him to a boy "whos brother hit him in the head with a wrench after watching a wrestling match on TV".
But the bottom line is that you must do what you feel is right for your son.

As a youth I watch wrestling and it was more about wrestling than violence. Today, I will not let my children watch wrestling (ages 5 and 3 because of the viloence and also the sexual appeal they try to apply to the kids of today. Kids are like a sponge at a young age, what they soke up will eventually come out. If you want your child to grow up and bully other kids then let them watch but beware of your actions now they will come back and haunt you.

if people listened every time that someone said that something isnt right and didnt let their kids watch something, we would all be in trouble.
in my generation, we had cartoons that supposedly made us do things.
wrestling is not going to hurt anything. as long as the kids know that some of those moves can really hurt other kids, i dont see what the problem is.
its not the horror or blood and guts like a lot of movies are

Sure it's ok!My mom told me when I was a baby I used to sit on my dad's lap and watch wrestling and laugh and now 21 years later I still laugh...when Cena gets in the ring! But because of that I'm more of a critic when it come to wrestling then a fan(BIG difference)

As a father myself, I would say no because of the Diva's "special matchs" wait till he's a bit older... or if you want him to become a pro wrestler.
