No, not usually. That is, I've never known it to be. They need the holiday, too, I guess. Sometimes special expensive delivery items are delivered on holidays, but the PO isn't open for business. You can probably get in to use the machines and check your PO Box, if you have one. Their website www.usps.com should have details, or at least have a link so you can find these details.

Most government offices are closed on holidays. Swing by they usually post hours on the door if they close for the holiday

The post office is not open for business, however, they do deliver overnight packages if you require it, you must mark the box to identify next day delivery, holiday delivery.

Nope. I know because my birthday often falls on Labor Day and I've always complained because cards and gifts won't come on Labor Day. : )

The USPS is officially closed on labor day. It says so on their website.
