I have acne. It's not too bad. I'm on medicing (RX) that helps most of the time. I try toothpaste sometimes, I ues some differnt things but I can't seem to get them all to go away. It's anoying cause I'm using stuff but it doesn't work 100%. Does this really chance how people (girls) will see me as a person? Will I grow out of it? (I'm just a teen)

I tried Proactive before I went to an RX from a dermontologist. Proactive did not work after about a year.

Unfortunately, it does affect how people see you- you look different with acne. It is a fact. It is also a fact that doctors do not know everything. You may have been precribed a medication that is not 'right' for you. You may have an underlying cause of the acne (i.e. anxiety or stress) that needs to be treated before you tackle the skin symptoms of the problem. Keep trying to find the right cure, but stick with new treatements for several weeks, until you know for sure whether or not they work. Good luck!

I also had acne from 14+ years old until last year (I'm 20+ now). I've tried so many products to get rid of acne, but didn't work - some worked, but after a while didn't anymore and some didn't work at all! Those products I tried range from average product (like Biore) to counter expensive product (like Lancome, Biotherm).
I was so confused and lost my confidence. Then, I found Paula's Choice when browsing online. I consult with her by email and yes, the product works like charm! I am acne free now and also blackheads and whiteheads free! I recommended it to my friends who also have acne, and they are very satisfied with this product.
I personally never tried ProActive..

Personally and I am a girl, I don't seen to find a boy with a handful of acne to be too attractive. You should use Proactiv Acne Solution. It works wonders! Acne can't be cured, with or without a prescription. Even after blemishes disappear, you must continue to use an effective acne treatment to keep new blemishes from forming. Our expert dermatologists have created a breakthrough way to treat acne safely and effectively. Combination Therapy® uses several different medicines in one system to heal the blemishes you have now and help keep new ones from forming. 3 Steps to clear skin! Step 1: Renew, Step 2: Revitalize, Step 3: Repair. Step 1: Renewing Cleanser - Tiny, smooth grains unclog the pore and help remove dead skin cells. Benzoyl peroxide penetrates deep to attack bacteria. Step 2: Revitalizing Toner - A gentle alcohol-free formula helps to balance skin tone and remove dead skin cells, while preparing the pore for the Repairing Lotion. Step 3: Repairing Lotion - Finely milled benzoyl peroxide penetrates deep into the pore to attack bacteria, healing existing blemishes and preventing new ones from forming. Many of the acne medications you buy at the store are "spot treatments," designed primarily to get rid of existing acne, one pimple at a time, with harsh creams that can cause redness or irritation. Gentle and effective, doctor-developed Proactiv Solution is designed to be used on the whole face (or acne-prone area) every day. It gets rid of existing acne - and proactively helps prevent future breakouts before they even surface on your skin. And since it's formulated with soothing botanicals like allantoin, panthenol, aloe and chamomile, it leaves your skin feeling healthy and hydrated... instead of dry and flaky. Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day this helps you prevent acne from happening. Also while excerciseing don't wear anything on your head this will cause pimples.
You should also go to this Link http://www.proactiv.com/about/myths.php?pactvid=c5ca19b89edc2e9c0fccc23cf014acb0
It tells you Myths taht are untrue about how acne is formed. The more you know about acne the more you can do to prevent it! Good luck!

Have you used Proactive? It really does work. I think you should at least try it.
I don't think acne will really affect how girls see you, but it may affect how you feel about yourself, which stinks, because any lack of self confidence you have MAY affect your interactions with others. You could very easily grow out of the acne issues, but if not, maybe you could consider seeing a different dermatologist. Sometimes a second opinion helps.

In addition to the regular treatments, it might help to add some things to your diet like green tea (if you can find one with ginger and green tea that's even better for your skin), ginseng, fish or fish oil capsules, zinc and lots of filtered water. For most people acne is caused by foods and products that are inflammatory to the skin, the things I listed are all anti-inflammatory and help to heal the skin. You can get them all at a health food store. I'm sure that if you can make some small changes it will stop being a problem--and don't worry, it happens to everyone!

your a teen and most likely will grow out of it, they sell acne soap, and acne creams, but the best remedy i used that works well.....hand soap.....ivory is the best..because it has minimal perfumes and oils in it [ worked for me ]. wash infected area about 3 to 4 times a day, careful not to dry the skin to much or you will have even more problems, you will know if it is too dry...it will itch ALOT., you live for you not how others view you, worry about you. be easy on yourself....your just a teen, take care.
