The 5W-20 weight is a synthetic blend from Motorcraft, designed to be used in the newer model Ford vehicles. The 5W-30 from Motorcraft is a conventional oil. The newer engines from Ford have very close tolerances, the synthetic blend is used for this purpose, and over the life of millions of vehicles produced and using 5W-20 weight oil since it's start in 2001, a lower fuel consumption average was noticed when compared with 5W-30.
This was part of a bulletin distributed to us Ford technicians, after 5W-20 became a standard motor oil for Ford.

The Thickness of the Oil is Different.Warmer weather you should run a thicker oil because the engine will run hotter & the oil breaks down quicker which will wear out the moving parts inside your engine faster.
