I have heard many times that qualified white males are forced to put their lives on hold so people with different pigment (color) in their skin can get ahead even though they don't have the skills or the education.

It has happened to me...when I worked for the Texas State Prison System back in the early 90's I applied for a Sgt position and the job was given to a hispanic female with fewer years experience, no management experience and no college. Not once but four times over the course of three years. I finally left to go to work somewhere else.
The nice part was after the last time, the sgt they promoted ahead of me, she had 9 months in the system, told me to do her job for her, I refused. She tried to yell me into submission, I still refused and the Lt came to send me out (it was time for us to go off duty). The next day the Sgt told me she was going to see to it that I got fired...about 6 weeks later she had me written up for something so bogus I still dont know how she turned it in with a straight face. But when I went before the warden I had it all covered with the proof that I was not doing what I was being accused of doing...and proof of what she was not doing...hehehe
She was demoted the next day and sent to another shift...justice is sometimes slow in coming but it is sweet...!!!!

Yes, there was a director's job open at my company that I was well qualified for but I was told that they had to hire a minority.

That is complete bologna.

There have been studies on this. It is called the 'victim syndrome'. For over 100 years, white males dominated the workforce to include hiring and firing. The studies have shown that the vast majority of the time, hiring discrimination is not on purpose.. that it is human nature to high ppl like yourself.

What affirmative action does is promote finally evening out that area. Of course that means that some white males that in the past would have been hired into positions are going to filled by females or non-whites. BUT this has to be done in order to correct the discrimination.

Also, white males like to convince themselves that ppl are just hired for their color or gender. That is not true. The studies have also shown that employers do not hire ppl who are not qualified for a position no matter what race or gender.

So, all I have to say is "get OVER IT". White males are only feeling right now what all non-white males have been feeling for generations.

Yes. Several times. I was qualified for management positions, and had people of color promoted over me, even though I trained them, AND they were NOT as qualified.
So why were they promoted, right? Well, there weren't enough minorities in management positions where I worked.
