It does have a color, but it's a very pale champagne sort of color. A tint you would only really notice on a white background. Like everyone else said, green or brown is not normal.

You can leak a small amount of fluid out at a time. It isn't always a huge gush of fluid, sometimes it's a slow process.

Regardless, if you think your water is broken, you should see your doctor or go to the hospital. The bag of water is all that protects your baby from the evils of the outside world. After your water is broken, the risk of infection is much higher, as well as other risks to the baby.

The bag of water is usually clear. Now if it's colored and breaks or leaks a little at a time, you should be concerned re infection. Better see the OB-Gyn immediately. . He might advised bedrest if your due date is still far. You can not go around partially dilated. and with your bag of water broken or leaking.

If your water breaks there should just be clear fluid. If it is colored, usually yellowish/brownish, it could indicate meconium. This is where the baby has a bowel movement before birth, and could cause complications. If this is the case you need to let them know at the hospital. If you water has broken you need to get to the hospital now!!

It should still be clear. My water broke(it was leaking) after I had an amniocentesis done. It was still clear and it leaked on and off for a couple days. I new why though. If you dont know why I would go to your doctor. If your almost due and your leaking at all I would also go in because you might be going into labor or need to be induced. I had to stay on best rest when I was leaking and luckily the hole closed and my son was born healthy.

your water should not be colored, if it is, you need to be seeing your doctor ASAP. I have never heard of water breaking a little at a time, when it breaks, it breaks all at once.

That happened to me. It wasn't the water sac, though. It was the mucus plug and it was slight and tinged.

Mine was not colored at all. You should probably give your OBGYN a call if yours is blood tinged.

it has a yellowish tint...and it is warm. sometimes i have to wear a diaper. it comes gushing out all at once. sometimes it feels like i am having first-day heavy period coming out of my anus. that's when the yellow liquid comes out. and that is why i wear the diaper.
