does anybody know any herbal alternative to taking care of a vaginal yeast infection? i have used the monistat stuff before, but absolutely hated it. i have already started taking biotin and cranberry. its getting better but i want it to get better faster. what else should i start taking?

take the acidopholis (im sure the spelling is wrong) ... the pharmasist told me to take 2 a day and i could even insert one vaginally (like the monistat insert).... supposedly eating yogurt helps too, and staying away from sugar. if none of that works you should just go to your doctor so it doesnt get worse...good luck!

The book 'The Natural Phamacy' suggests boric acid capsules inserted vaginally twice a day for 2-4 weeks (get them from a compounding pharmacy) Do NOT use these if you are pregnant.
Also, douches with tea tree oil can be tried, but the book is sketchy on the details. A naturopath should be consulted.
Probiotics and Yogurt are helpful; douching with yogurt has been tried and gotten some benefits.

It would not hurt to take acidopholis (sp) in the health food store.
