First let me say my heart goes out to you. Those little louses are awful. We had a bought of it at our school a couple of years ago, and I was at my wits end. Get a bottle of olive oil. Soak the kids hair. Soak it with the oil good. Wrap their hair up in a plastic bag. Tie it tight so the plastic bag doesn't slip down over their face. The olive oil suffocates the buggars. Leave it on for an hour and a half to two hours. Get the lice comb from the drug store. Comb it out. Take special care to get the knits near the roots. Make sure to put all their stuffed animals in a garbage bag and tie it shut and store it in your garage for a few days. Wash all bedding, towels, clothing in HOT water and put in the dryer on hot. Vaccuum all the furniture, and mattresses. If they have been carrying a back pack, put that in a sealed garbage bag for a few days. Check it the next morning and pull all the knits out if their are any left. The oil also makes the knits come out easier. I found I took the shade off a floor lamp and leaned it over so I could see my daughters head better. Good luck hon. Once you get rid of them buy some tea tree oil at a health food shop or homiopathic shop and get a spray bottle fill it with water put 10-12 drops of the tea tree oil in the water and spray it on your kids hair every morning before school. Tea tree oil is supposed to discourage lice. It smells awful, but it seemed to work. Remember this too shall pass.

The only way to get rid of them is to comb your children's wet hair every evening with a lice comb, that's a very fine-toothed comb that will get rid odf the nits. If you exchange and boilwash pillows and bedclothes every day as well, it will get rid of the lice in about 4 to 6 weeks. It is also important to inspect clothes for lice that have been detached during undressing.

the lice will not die totally if where the kids are is not clean, u need to clean the bed linings wash the kids from head to toe often, while using the store treatments . if that dont work u need to see ur local county clinic nurse, the service is usually free or u pay a little money if u dont have health insurance

I'd buy Garnier Fructis 2 in 1 anti-dandruff/lice. Works really well for me.

I have an electronic comb that detects and electrocutes them. It's called the Robi Comb. They are about $30, but well worth it. You don't have to use shampoos with it but I always like to do at least one treatment, then use the comb as directed. Hope this helps.

Mayonnaise works well. Coat their heads with mayonnaise and have them sleep in it over night. The next morning wash their hair with DAWN dish washing detergent. Wash their sheets in HOT water and add some liquid LYSOL ( the liquid kind that you use for floors not the SPRAY). Mix equal parts of LYSOL and Water in a spray bottle and spray furniture down. Hope that helps, it's worked for me.
