I am 16 years old and every summer for the past 6 years my family has traveled up to Washington to see these close friends of our family. *Our familys have been friends for a very long time yet we are not actually blood related.* Now with that being said, their family has a daughter which I've always had a crush on. the problem is that I've always thought of them as family, but they're not really blood. I would really love to have a more romantic relationship with her *not just sexual* and we have gone to the movies together and I have always felt sexual tension. What should I do? Go for it, or forget it?

You're not family, so if you're not blood related at all and she's in your age group, it's just a natural thing.

Anyway, one thing you may want to consider is the fact that your families have been freinds for a very long time.

If you have a relationship that ends badly, your families would probably still remain as friends, yes?

Anyway, the point is that you may have to run into this girl for the rest of your life.

If you've known her your whole life, then you should be able to figure out a way to test the waters a bit before jumping in. If it seems like a go, then go for it, if not, why ruin a good thing. Of course, there's always the thought that you don't have to see her again for a year, so either way, you should be okay.

I think it is normal in this situation for your feelings for this young lady to change . You have basicly grown up together , and your mind and bodies are changing . I would approch her and ask if we cantalk . Then ask her if her feelings about you have changed or grown in any way . You might be plesantly surprised , you probably already have warm feelings in this area . Since you have been so close for so long she will not want to hurt you either way , then you can get on with her , or part still friends and go on till you find someone who will return your love.. Good luck !

There are quite a few things that could be against you here.. the long distance (thats a killer, I have been through that myself), what your families would think, and also how SHE would actually feel... like someone else said.. set up a pretend situation similiar to yours and ask her what she thinks about it subtlely.. if she shows any discomfort, dont push it. I think you can do it. :] good luck.

I don't see any problem. If your family and their family are as close as you say, I would think they would be happy to see to people that they care much about find happiness together. Good luck and God Bless!

G'day Hank E,

Thanks for the question.

I would tell her how you feel about her and see how it goes. There is no reason why you couldn't pursue a relationship with her.

Good luck to you both.

Regards

Why not, if you are that close, you already know alot about her her likes and dislikes, just make sure she feels the same way, otherwise it could be a little uncomfortable.
