They sell kitchen cabinet resurfacing kits at any home depot,it's like a laminate that you glue over your existing cabinet surfaces.There are more expensive kits that simply replace the doors and drawer fronts also.

Use a handy grinding wheel to make a nice surface then use buffer to remove any dust on the surface then spray a good looking colour
