the muffler controls back pressure in the exhaust system..it would be loud and a bit harder on fuel..say hello to the trooper that pulls you over as well..lol

First you'd cause your car to run poorly and would kill any performance or gas mileage. You'd also possibly get a very expensive ticket because cops go after those without mufflers. Another thing to take into consideration is that if you disconnect the exhaust, you run the risk of your car filling with carbon monoxide which can kill you.
The there's the e-check in some areas. Your car could fail it causing you to be unable to register your car.
Besides,, if your cars too loud you can't hear your radio as well.

ONCE AGAIN---INVESTIGATE BEFORE ANSWERING---
95 DODGE NEON DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH BACK PRESSURE IF YOU TAKE THE MUFFLER OFF----MOST OFTEN NOT EVEN ENOUGH COMPRESSION WITH A "TUNER" MUFFLER----THESE ENGINES, BY DESIGN, ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE "HI-PERFORMANCE" WITHOUT TURBO OR PORTED AND POLISHED HEAD AND ALL THE STUFF TO PUT THE CAR NEAR 200HP.
HIGHER COMPRESSION AND LARGER INTAKE AND A DECENT EXHAUST SYSTEM IS THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP THE HP UP WITHOUT TURBO.
DEPENDING ON THE ENGINE---YOU MAY EVEN BURN THE EXHAUST VALVES AND DAMAGE THE HEAD.
CHECK YOU STATE ABOUT ELIMINATING THE MUFFLER.
NO MUFFLER IN MOST STATES= YOUR NOT DRIVING.

Your car will be loud (and not in a cool way), you will not pass emissions, you will probably get pulled over due to the noise.
If you want the car to sound loud, you can buy parts to attach onto the end of your muffler to make it sound louder w/o the pollution issue. GO online to any custom parts location. I believe that you want a resinator (they used to be called Glass Packs) for your exhaust system

It is illegal is most states not to have a muffler. So if you son't want to get pulled over I suggest keeping the muffler. Check and see if you can use glass packs that will increase the sound and it might be legal.

remove the muffler and this wont hurt the cars performance trust me my boyfriend races this type of car if your going to be driving this car on the street then remove it straight pipe it then get a turbo this will take car of the troopers because a turbo is concidered a noise cancelling device and is perfectlly legal so you can tell the coppers to bite a big one !

If you took the muffler off it will make your car louder, you will have to saw it off with a hacksaw blade ,,but it really won't cause a problem if that's what you are worried about.

well when the cold air hits those wonderful little valves you will wonder why it doesnt start......... or it can also mess up the catalytic convertor....... leave the muffler on just change it to something else, a glasspack is only 30 bucks installed most of the time

that would get the job done, but the muffler creates back pressure which makes the engine perform better.. so youd be sacrifising power and what not.. plus it can sound kinda shitty.. if i were you id look into exaust systems.. that is if youre willing to get that into it.. if you just want somethin quick and simple, go right ahead and rip that sucker off

Not having the back pressure would cause your o2 sensor the ability to measure your air fuel mixture and cause your check engine light to come on.
