what about a...
1. midnight in paris, you can have an effiel tower, mini fountain, bridge, cafe, lamp posts. OR...
2. hollywood glamour and as you come in you can have a red carpet when you enter and maybe even paparazzi so ever can feel good and know they look good. And who ever wins prom king or queen or anything else, they could win an oscar and the crown OR...
3. Enchantment Under The Sea. You could have colorful fish hanging from the ceiling, and fans blowing green streamers which can look like seaweed. OR...
4. "An Evening in Hawaii". The decorations can be palm trees, real sand and an center peice with a large black volcanoe with red balloons coming out of the top with a flashing lightbulb below the balloons. And at the doors there could be two girls wearing grass hula skirts, coconut bras and flowers in their hair. OR...
5." A Wedding Theme" The decorations could be ice swans, rose center pieces, rose petals scattered on the white capet, and there could be fountains where pictures could be taken. OR...
6. "Come Fly With Me" The decorations can be cardboard people hanging around in the air kinda rotating, and other things. This one I did think of myself. Or...
7. "Here and Now". The decorations, I really don't know but for the last dance song it could be Luther Vandross song, "Here and Now" which is a slow dance song.
Or just think of song names and try to go
from there and see what you get
Good Luck!!!

You could do a Now and Then theme, where the girls come dressed modern day, and the boys come dressed from different time eras. Have giant clocks hanging everywhere and a mural on one wall w/a timeline w/each date that made a staple in fashion and style i.e.: 20s: flapper dresses 50s: poodle skirts 60s: tye dye 70s: high collared shirts 80s: neon... and so on

You could do one on, a movie theme. There are so many good movies out there. Or you could do it like what mine was called, "Rainbow Connection'. The ceiling had raindrops hanging from it and a large rainbow was built in the gym that the girl would sit on a cloud next to her date for the prom picture. It was great.

Past themes at our school (and as a prom commisioner, I have no problem with you borriwng them):
-Tango De Fuego (flames, latin music, red and black, tons of fun)
-I Love NY (cutouts of cities, taxis, NY themed music)
-Monte Carlo (almost Vegas-like, cutouts of cards, money signs)
-The Fabulous Life (lavish, faux-gold, everyone dressed up very nicely and chic)
Out of those four, the one with the best turnout was 'The Fabulous Life'. Hope you find a good idea!
