You have to be intelligent to understand the nuances of cricket, many of which, like the ball spinning action, are based on the laws of physics and might be a bit incomprehensible to the average thickshite, like the previous poster said.
If you're not intelligent enough, you'd best stick to a bunch of vastly overpaid thugs kicking a ball around in the rain. Football isn't it??
Cricket is not at all boring and I'd far sooner watch a really good game of cricket that goes on all day in the lovely summer sun than sit there for 2 hours in the freezing cold at a footie game watching the thuggish fans beat the sh*t out of each other!!!
Oh and before anyone drones on about it being an "English" sport, I'm Welsh and love cricket - I'm a Glamorgan supporter. We have some wicked players down here like Simon Jones!
Oh and cricket fans are intelligent and civillised enough to rip the pish out of each other with their chants, songs etc, without it having to escalate into a full blown battle with bottles and glassing and bricks being hurled like the Neanderthal footie fans do.
We do it all the time at Welsh/English club games or at England/Aussie games (most of us Welsh are happy to support the English against the Aussie, especially if Simon Jones is playing!). its called Sportsmanship. Look it up.
Cricket fans can take the mick mercilessly out of each other and still get together for a friendly drink afterwards with no violence. Thats why its a "gentlemans" game.

I's not boring at all!! It is great to watch especially cos Engurland tend to be quite pish at it and think up even more woeful excuses for getting beat than they do at fitba!! I went to watch Scotland V Australia at the Grange in Edinburgh a few years ago and although the Aussies were whipping us on the field, the supporters drinkin comp was won by us scots!!! So 2 points there 1: Engurland are guff! and 2: You can go there and get bladdered with NO segregation!!!!

Whether it is boring or not boring will depend upon your inerest in the game. While lovers of cricket will not find the game boring,
others will feel it boring. For a common man who is not ardent lover of cricket, test matches may be boring but not one day
matches and 20 - 20matches.

I used to find it dull, but over the last few years, (that would be when England are winning) i've got into it.
I understand that some people can't stand it though, and find it totally dull...like I do with baseball, uurgh, that's dull.
So Cricket to you is a dull as baseball is to me.

I'm English and even I would rather watch paint dry than sit through five seconds of Cricket. More happens with the paint.
