I want to do a research paper on opposing same sex marriages, but my professor says i need three subclaims and a thesis statement....

I would focus on the common law definition of marriage, historical definitions of marriage and how same sex marriage differs from the civil rights act.

your three subclaims are just reasons you are opposing it.
like it doesn't make a good public appearence
or thats not the way God intended for marraiges to be

Your thesis shou;d be a hook to grab the readers attention and it should be placed in your introduction.

Like...Same sex marraiges defeat the whole definition of marragie or marital purposes.

Why would you oppose same sex marriages? Please, think about it. People that want to marry others of the same gender are PEOPLE, no more and no less. That is your thesis sentence.
