If terrorists detonate a nuke on US soil, it is likely the US will respond by destroying Tehran. In answer to your question, yes, very likely.

HAVE to? I don't believe we've ever HAD to launch a nuclear weapon. Will we do it again, that's another question. If previous patterns in our government are any indication, probably, we will. But I don't think the killing of so many innocents is ever justified.

. Right now we only have one country to really worry about attacking us with the bomb and that is North Korea. We cannot make the same mistakes with Iran as we did with North Korea. I am referring to offering Iran incentives to not continue with uranium enrichment. Even if they accept our offers as North Korea done they will still go ahead in secret and continue with uranium enrichment just as North Korea done. Also if anybody out their believe that Iran is continuing with their program as a self defense deterate is a fool.The world community cannot allow a defiant Iran to continue on it's path and let them have the bomb

Sooner or later Kim Jong Ill or Ahmadinejad will sell the bomb to the nutfudge west haters in the muddled east and then, when the mushroom cloud is rising over NYC or Washington DC, all bets are off. I think whoever is left and in charge (unless it is Jimmy Carter) will have to target Tehran or Pyongyang just to let them know how really p*ssed off the US is.

I agree with Q and Hank. if someone nukes us, we will nuke back. and the smart aleck anti-war females will be the ones who most demand it. This is not a guess. Social experiments have been done, such things as war simulations, and the military people almost never fire the nukes, not even in simulation. Females are the most likely to fire nukes in simulation.

Right now, if N Korea fires a nuke we will toast it, and if Iran nukes Israel we will nuke it, otherwise, no, don't see a good reason
