Well look at the way things have been going for years. Celebrities and politicians always blame 'someone else'. America has turned into a society of 'victims'. I'm like this because somebody did *this* to me.
Whiners and cry babies.
And it's not getting any better. I see parents teaching their kids that it's not their fault that they 'failed' that algebra test the teacher didn't do a good job teaching it (even though the kid went out the night before and failed to study at all). It's not their fault they didn't make the basketball team or honor roll...
*eyeroll*
The only way it's going to change is if more parents teach their kids personal responisbility, but it's just so much easier to blame everyone else.
BTW, it is *my* fault if I fail to teach my kids this lesson. I'm trying though. :)

fully agree and get pissed at this all the time. BUT...don't forget, we also ignore personal accountability. not only should someone else have done it, but if we do it wrong, it's not our fault. if we fail to do it, it's not our fault. if we screw up and cost our company money, the company should understand that getting the broccoli out of my teeth over the past 45 minutes was more important than talking to our million dollar customer. AND...if someone ever tries to take one of these responsibility avoiding people to task, there is always a lawyer in waiting ready to defend them for free (pro bone-head i think it's called). looks like we're stuck with it for now.

I think that in today's society it is too easy to pass the buck or blame someone else. Children that act up in school must be having trouble at home, or come from a bad situation. No matter who you are (barring genuine mental disability) you have the ability to control your actions.
As a kid everyone does things they are not supposed to, or talks back to their parents in anger. When I was a child, if I ever said "well I was upset" or "I'm really mad," my mother used to say to me "so you're telling me that you can't control your actions when you're angry, that's pretty serious."
My point is, though people cannot always control their situations, they can always control their conscious actions and should always take responsibility for that--even if they are intoxicated.

AMEN BROTHER!
I thought I was the only one who thought that way!
It's the lawyers dude.In a country where we can sue for anything and everything those bastards put commercials on TV just BEGGIN' for someone, anyone to call in.
Slip and fall in the ice out front of a building? Call now!
Did your dumbass get cancer from smoking? Call now!
Get a paper cut opening your electric bill? Call now!
Are you fat because you cram McDonalds down your throat 3 times a day? Call NOW!!!
It's disgusting! Almost everyone in this country believes they're entitled to something more than they truly deserve. We'll never be the great country we once were until that attitude dies!

The American Teachers Union, the modern liberal Democratic Party, 50-Cent, Madonna...The list could go on forever.
There's an old song by a bunch of hippies called Crosby, Stills, and Nash...
"Teach Your Children Well"... Makes all the sense in the world today.

You know...not everyone goes by that code all the time! Sometimes I take responsibilty, but why take the blame when someone else is nearby and looking guilty....

You are so right!!! People want to make their own choices, but when they make a bad choice they want to blame someone else for it. I'm sick and tired of this. Grow up and take responsibilities for yourselves people!!! Thanks for asking this question. I just got a load off my chest.
