it means you flip the fraction. (For example 3/4 becomes 4/3)

a recipricol is just a "flip" of what you have.

if you have the fraction 2/3 the recipricol is 3/2
if you have the whole number 5 you put it over a 1 5/1 because there's an imaginary 1 there.

if you have a -4 you put it over a one and it remains negative -1/4

Reciprocal is the same as the inverse (arithmetic). Reciprocal of x = x inverse = 1/x.

Flip the denominator and the numerator. 1/3 would become 3/1 (or just 3).
