"Unknown Subject of an Investigation" - matter of fact there used to be a good show called "Unsub" (1989, starred David Soul) - it was sort of like C.S.I. - I remember one show where they put a framework about a foot above the floor at a crime scene so that they could work without actually stepping on the floor and contaminating the scene.

It means Unknown Subject of an Investigation.... they use it alot in criminal cases.. we usually hear it though when watching criminal tv shows
