Yes as long as the person who lists the phone as being for the Verizon network. Honestly, I would not trust any of the auctions that list the phone as "unlocked" so you can use it on any network. I think that is throwing money out the window.

I have purchased a phone off eBay that was a Verizon phone and it was used. I asked the seller for the numbers on the phone underneath the battery (esn and I can't remember what the other is) and I called Verizon, gave them the numbers and they verified that the phone was ok (not reported stolen or lost, no outstanding balance from the prior owner, etc.). And I activated it on my family plan (3 lines).

So, yes you can do this but make sure it is listed for the Verizon network and see if the person listing the auction will provide you with the numbers on the phone for verification (if used).

Good luck!

You have to make sure it's a Verizon phone. It will say Verizon Wireless somewhere on the phone, also make sure it's not outdated. They are updating technology so fast it's usually better to get one directly from the service provider.

I would check with Verizon before buying a phone on e-bay. Verizon will give you a list of phones that are compatible with their service.
Not all cell phones work with every service provider.

Probably if it's a Verizon type phone, & it hasn't been discontinued. My friend had this really old phone that she tried to activate from Verizon, but they wouldn't do it for her because it was so old.
