I do. All the life long. And we are more than friends too!!!

Living in Turin it's easy to find rivalry at every corner. Here are two main teams, Juventus and Torino. Torino isn't known as Juventus all over the world, but they were so far the best Italian team in the past - some quotes from wiki:
"After the early years, Torino were denied their first championship attempt by the outbreak of World War I, and their first title was revoked in 1926/27 due to an irregularity in the match against Juventus. Torino won its first Scudetto, the Italian Serie A league Championship, the following 1927/28 season and, between 1942/43 and 1948/49, the "Grande Torino" (Great Torino), widely considered the best ever team in Italian football history, won five other straight scudetti, led by its captain, Valentino Mazzola.
On May 4, 1949, all but one player (who was out for an injury) of Grande Torino were killed when their plane crashed into the hills of Superga, on the outskirts of Turin. The club never recovered, and after a decade of mediocre seasons, they were relegated to Serie B in 1958/59"
In modern days, Torino has lot of supporters spared all over Italy, especially aged men.
Since the plane crash, Torino was switching between 'serie A' and 'serie B' some times (they won scudetto again in 1976). This season Juventus is relegated in 'serie B' by the maych-fixing scandal, the very first time in their history --- you can easily spot it out how trash talking reached its climax!
Anyway, you can't choose friends (and more-than-friends) on a supporting basis!!!!
My grandma was supporting Torino, grandpa Juventus.
My father Juventus as mine, my brother Torino.
My wife Torino, her younger brother and father too, the older brother Juventus.
In my bunch of friends supporting is quite shared at 50%, plus some underdogs (Milan, CAGLIARI!)
By now, rivalry isn't harsh as in '70s (fighting, insulting - not involving youngsters only, I well remember two adiacent shopkeepers who had a fight!!!), but, believe me, trash talking is definitively USUAL and we all are well trained to live with it on our side...

Well it is only their opinion, which they are entitled to have. I am sure they have their reasons to not like particular teams or players, but that does not make someone a good or bad person and is really no indication of their character. I have some friends/contacts on this forum that like my team (Australia) and some that do not. I do not judge them for their opinions on my team or my favourite players. It's not possible for all people to like the same teams/players, and it's sport related, not really personal, so why would I not enjoy the friendships of others simply because they have different opinions and tastes to myself.

It's suppose to be that way, what is the point if we would all support the same teams and players!!!!! There are worst things in the world that people can do or say to you!!!!! You are funny, you choose your friend on fact witch team or player they support?? LOL

Sport(football) is suppose to bring us together , not to take as apart!!!

Because I can take it...Plus I know that my team France is great and can't win at every game they play. As for my player Zidane, I also know that he is more than what meets the eye. So, since I know... why should I be concerned about what anyone else says? nif...

My best friend hates France and Zidane, I dont know why, but she is a great person and I really like her so I dont see why I should break up with her because she dosnt like the country and the man I love the most.
I have exchanged a few emails with Juventina and she is perfectly fine lady, very nice to me. I dont know what your trying to prove....

Truthfully, I don't think I could. A few participants on this forum have trashed my favorite team and players, especially Cristiano Ronaldo, and I feel that they are insensitive and quite mean. I don't even bother answering their questions!

I am just wondering what is the level of soccer knowledge by the participant of this forum!
We should talk about "the game"... instead here we are, once again, discussing topics that have NOTHING to do with football!
Most likely it will be wiser to associate this kind of questions to some other category (e.g. Health > Mental Health or Social Science > Psychology)
Sigh!

Yeah, football is just a small part of for discussion. Trust me there are alot of other things to talk about to. Although talking about your team can never really get boring. Ciao
