Flip the second one over and then multiply. Hence, 2/3 over 5/6 is the same as 2/3 times 6/5, which is 12/15, which reduces to 4/5.

do the multiplicative inverse, which is making 5/6 to 6/5. so now you have 2/3 divided by 6/5. you should know how to cross-multiply, so do that. if you don't, multiply 2 by 6, which is 12, then 3 by 5, which is 15. so then you have 12/15. then reduce it to its smallest term. 12 divided by 3 is 4, and 15 divided by 3 is 5. so the answer is 4/5.

Flip the 5 and the 6 to make it 6/5. Then it becomes multiplication. So you'd make the 3 a 6 and make the 2 a 4 so it becomes 4/6 x 5/6. The answer is 20/36 which becomes 5/9 after putting it into lowest terms.

Turn one upside down (swap numerator and denominator) and the multiply them together (numerator x numerator and denominator x denominator).
In your example turn 2/3 upside down to 3/2. The multiply 3/2 by 5/6. So multiply the 3 x 5 and get 15 for the new numerator. Multiply 2 x 6 and get 12 for the new denominator. You then have 15/12 (which you can reduce to 5/4 if you need to).

To get the answer, flip the divisor (the second fraction) over, and then multiply the fractions. (Or, to put it another way, multiply the dividend [the first fraction] by the reciprocal of the divisor [the second fraction].)
3/2x6/5
3x6+18
2x5+10
18/10 then reduce this to lowest form

Emma K just beat me whilst I was proving it, before I dared tell you.
the rule I knew was...
to divide a fraction, you invert (the latter) , and multiply.
Emma K's answer disappears whilst I'm writing this, but I think that's more or less what she said also.
-now I'm editing...and there's lots of answers.....I think we all agree?
