I mean what do you people look for in a Highschool candidate besides a cheerleading uniform or football jersey?
Did or do any of you even try to decide whether the person would do a good job or not? Do you just pick friends? If so, isn't that kind of wrong?

So I'm guessing its only pretty, popular people who deserve to get to do things.
And I've been reading up all this time when I should've been wathing laguna beach and playing that fancy foozball!
Oh the irony, I thought being able to do things well would get me somwhere, what a fool I was!

We actually did this back in the 1970's:
Change your name to "Nobody"
Put up posters with all the absolutely true things about your candidacy:
"Nobody cares about student government"
"Nobody will stand up to the administration and school board"
"Nobody cares how your student activity money is spent"
After 95% of the student body doesn't bother to vote, declare victory. After all, they voted for Nobody, right?

I go to a small school (200 students?) and our School President knows everyone. He's an awesome guy, pretty cool and friendly. I guess he was voted in because of his personality like all elections! LOL, it doesn't matter if you can do the job, it matters if we want you to represent us.

one of my bff is our class prez and she got by being herself. Little hint, be nice to everybody because you mean it, not because you feel obligated to. Say hi to people you see on your way to class. And of course, you should know what you are doing. Yes, I picked my friend, but she was the right candidate for it, the other girl running for prez was a preppy cheerleader and she ran because she wanted to be in control of prom (the junior class is in charge of prom). If your friend is the better choice then you do pick for them, if not, then you know what you got to do.

Sorry kid, class president, like everything else in high school, is a popularity contest.

If it makes you feel better, though, that sh*t pretty much stops in college (unless you go to a big state school, in which case it stops *after* college).

I would look for a person who says:

"Vote for me, and I'll make all of your wildest dreams come true."

And there should be some sweet dance moves.
