If you mean endometriosis, it is a condition where bits of normal endometrial tissue (the lining of the uterus which is shed during the period) is found outside the uterus. it can be anywhere, but is usually in the abdominal cavity. Typical symptoms include extremely painful periods or symptoms that worsen with the period, because the tissue responds to estrogen, so that the symptoms are cyclical, just like the normal period. Usually, birth control pills control the symptoms very well.

endometriosis is when the cells that usually line the inside of the uterus (called endometrial cells) somehow get outside of the uterus and enter your body cavity. when in the body cavity, they act just like they do in the uterus - when your hormones cycle, they get thicker and they shed when you are having your period. this causes alot of cramping, painful cramps, and very heavy flow because the blood is coming from not only your uterus, but from other places around your uterus as well wherever the cells have implanted themselves. it can be fixed with the birth control pill and in severe cases can be fixed through a laparoscopic surgery (where they make very small cuts in your abdomen and do surgery with small instruments) where they kill the cells growing where they are not supposed to. this is supposed to lighten your flow, your cramps, and all of the pain.

It's spelled endometriosis - I think that's what you mean. Endometriosis is inflammation of the lining of the uterus.
