if its a 4 wheel drive its going to be hard to get out,,especially if you don't have a lift to put it on,,this means your going to be working on the ground,,and that's going to really hard to do,,also there is the weight factor involved ,,its going to be very heavy,,and awkward to get out,,you also need to have it very high in the air,,so that when you do get it all out,,you have room to remove it once you get it down, other wise it wont clear the side of the vehicle,,if your going to try and fix it in the vehicle,,you may not do do good,,because if its already slipping,,it may be going out,,the procedure i just explained is to remove it,,i seriously doubt at this point,,that changing the fluid is going to help it,,i own a repair shop, and have done a few of these,,there hard to work on,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

You checked the fluid level with the engine running about 4-5 min? You tried changing the fluid and cleaning the filter along with the tranny gasket? More info please?

the first thing that you need to do is check the fluid level if it is low it will cause your trannie to slip.
and if that is the case then just look for a leak and fix it you do not have to change the trannie.
