Which is more powerful Enterprise-D or Imperial class Star Destroyers?

I know the lack of transporters is a disadvatage, i'm asking ship to ship fire power

probably the star destroyer as it is more than twice as big as the enterprise, carries fighter ships which can be deployed (tie fighters) and it is a warship while the enterprise D is technically a ship of exploration even though it is well armed.

Each vessle has a glaring disadvantage. Enterprise has transporters that, if they could disable the Destroyer's sheilds, could lead to a very hasty defeat. By the same token, The Star Destroyer can launch TIE fighters to outnumber the Enterprise. And Enterprise can't combat that since they can only launch shuttles not meant for combat.
My vote goes to the Star Destroyers.

you are all forgetting a simple thing the Enterprise is a research vessel first and foremost, yes is has weapons to defend it self, but still it main function is to explore, the Star Destroyer's main function is to, as the name states, DESTROY plain and simple i think, any more questions?
